Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?
Today I am showing a new sketchbook artwork. How many characters do I have? I am not 100% sure. So far I have almost 50 main characters. As time goes by I will create more.
This time we have a new female main character. I love making characters. That is why I have so many. This post is a great opportunity for me to show off characters that I’ve never talked about before.
I made this character a few years ago during my university days. During that time, I was playing an online game called “Dreamland”. And like any unpopular game, it was removed a few years later. I had a slight interest towards that game. So I started to make a story with the small plot I knew about it.
Who is this character?
Her name is Lum Cheng, and she is 14 years old. She is a dreamseer, a person who can roam through dreams. From a very young age, she had a severe nightmare disorder. Ever since she was unable to have dreams. After many years later she had a dream again. But every night she dreams about a white fox entering her room through her mirror.
The story starts that people are losing their dreams. And children are being plagued with nightmares. This all because of a released dream eater. A dream watcher, named Reve, has to find any dreamseers. A seer and the watcher have to fight and capture the dream eater.
It became a difficult mission to find a dreamseer as they were rare. Without her, DreamWorld would start falling apart. He was able to find Lum, but contacting her was almost impossible. So he restored her dreams and communicated with her through them.
It took six repeated dreams for him to ask for her help. Then he took her to the DreamWorld and trained her how to use her powers. Every single night after bedtime, they would meet in the dreamland to fight other people’s nightmares.
It is all about exploring the Dream World and learning about her powers. While visiting dreams and nightmares, she discovers how in common different people have with each other. And the importance and functionality of dreams in daily lives.
This is what I have so far on this story. As much as I like it, I don’t give it enough attention as it deserves. I’ve made only two drawings for it. I have many stories going through with the same issue. That is the problem when you have too many individual stories.
And there you have it, a new sketchbook art. I want to prepare more drawings from my blue sketchbook. But I didn’t bring it with me. All I can create are new drawings or remake old ones. I am hoping this trip boosts my creative energy. I want to make as many artworks as I can. I want to have a very productive year.
