Things To Eat In: Santo Domingo

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Today I present you a Things to eat post. This will be the last Things to eat of 2018. The reason why I am not posting a european city is that I am going to the Dominican Republic soon. And I wanted to post a list of things that you can do and eat while there. At the same time, it is bringing up my traveling mood again.

So we are at part two on the things to do posts. This time it is about the foods you can eat at Santo Domingo. I’ve traveled here plenty on times before. But this will be my first time going there as a traveler. Over there you can find any other cuisine and fast foods. But when you go to a new country you have to focus on their native foods.

I was trying to make this list out of memory. I even asked my family about it. They know about the Dominican Republic more than I do. Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic share a few similar dishes. Well, it is not surprising, as they both share a history and are so close together.

A list of foods to try in Santo Domingo:

  • Bofe
  • Braised Chicken
  • Brugal Rum
  • Chimichurri
  • Chivo
  • Coconut Water
  • Dominican Cake
  • Dominican Coffee
  • Dulce de Leche
  • Fried Cheese
  • Fried Egg Empanadas
  • Fried Fish
  • La Bandera (rice, beans, and meat)
  • Lorico
  • Mangu (Plantain Mash)
  • Morir Soñando
  • Moro de Guandules
  • Papaya Milkshake
  • Pastelitos (Smaller versions of empanadas)
  • Pork Rinds
  • Presidente Beer
  • Red Soda (merengue/ raspberry)
  • Roasted Pork
  • Salami
  • Sancocho
  • Sweet Bean Cream
  • Tostones

While writing this list, I was getting filled with so much anticipation. There are a lot of things that I would like to eat again especially the Red Soda. Knowing that I will be eating a lot. I would have to plan an exercise routine to keep me in shape. I always eat more than I should on these trips.

And there you have it a new Things to Eat post. Soon I am about to leave on my trip. All my things are set and ready. It feels so different to travel with your family then by myself. But also being with my family means that everything is already planned for me. I hope to enjoy my first Holiday trip.
