Hello Everybody! How are you all doing today?
Welcome to my new blog post! Today I want to talk about the differences between two types of creative journaling. There are so many ways to decorate and be creative with a journal. But some types have me a bit confused. It all started when I was looking for inspiration online. There were plenty of cool and interesting ideas I wanted to try. Without noticing I didn’t pay attention to the different creative styles. At some point, some styles are like each other, but at the same time, you can tell the difference.
For now, I only want to talk about the two styles: art journaling and bullet journaling. You might be thinking that there is a stark difference between the two. But there are some ideas that both blend with each other. In the beginning, they were very different styles. People then started getting more creative with them. Now you can’t tell the difference between art journaling and bullet journaling. Either way, both are excellent ways to get creative.
Art Journaling, by definition, is art created through the process of journaling. It has no rules so you can use any type of medium to create art. While also keeping a diary you can creatively express yourself. Over time it has become a very abstract medium. There are plenty of ways of art journaling. With this style the creativity is limitless. You can use anything, from paints to scraps of paper. Art journaling doesn’t even have to stick to a journal. There are multitudes of single-sheet journaling out there. Anyone can be an art journalist.
Bullet Journaling is the practice of keeping your life on track. Like owning a daily/monthly planner. The difference between the two is the choice of personal customization. Your bullet journal caters to your needs. And that is where the creativity begins. I’ve seen a lot of bullet journal samples. They are super creative. But they manage to work around the organizational aspect of it. Sometimes you can’t tell if it is a bullet journal or an art journal. Anybody can create a bullet journal. But it takes a very organized mind to be able to maintain one.
Both Bullet and Art Journaling are very interesting forms of art. I am not very good at maintaining a bullet journal. However, I am willing to adapt their organized creativity for my creative journaling. All the colors and the planning are good for me, as long as it only stays on one page. At first, I thought it was a good idea to keep all creative styles separate. Now that I know more about them, I want to use them in my creative journaling.
Right now I have many journals in mind to work on my creative journaling. I have the Smash Book, Dylusions Creative Journal, and many other random journals. And don’t forget, a bunch of art supplies waiting for me to use them. If only I had the time and space to work on them. I’ve wanted to do creative journaling since the moment I found out about them years ago. It is another way I want to express myself outside of drawing anime.
There you have it! A new creative post. Talking about the differences and similarities of Bullet Journaling and Art Journaling. I want to work on creative journaling again. It has been a while since the last time I’ve done it. If only I could have some free time. So far, I have all the art supplies I need. I’ve been collecting a lot of creative ideas. Now it is time to decide which journal I want to work on. I plan to mix all these ideas together to create something new and amazing.
So please wish me good luck and have a nice day!
