Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?
Welcome to my new art project post. I’ve been dying to create this artwork for so long. I remember drawing the tree when I was still living in Canada. So it has been over a year and a half waiting for this moment. I guess the wait was worth it. But I still didn’t have the proper supplies to make this project possible.
The only issue was that I didn’t have a heat tool. I was stuck between using a lighter or a hairdryer. Thinking about it now neither would have been a good idea. But I still picked the later. And then I realized that wasn’t a good idea. It worked but it was all out of control.
What are the supplies I’ve used:
- Dylussions Creative Journal
- Crayola Crayons
- Black Ink
- Hairdryer
So little but so much mess. Every project on paper I do it in my Dylussions Creative Journal. I prefer to use it cause the journal is for that kind of project. I can add so many layers and it won’t fall apart. One day, when I am done with the one I have I will buy myself the big one. More projects and much bigger pages.
I made this tree a long time ago. But first I colored the page in a light blue color to simulate the sky. I didn’t want it to look creamy white. It would have been weird and it wouldn’t look right in my eyes. So I decided to paint it ahead of everything else.
So first the page then the tree. I found an image of a tree online and drew it on the page. Then I went to the art store to get black ink for this project. I asked for the darkest black ink possible. I guess I found it cause I only added one coat and it looked perfect. And it didn’t bleed through either.
After this many months and a year happened. This project has always been in my mind. And I can’t believe how fast it all happened. I had my box of new crayons. I peeled it of its wrapper. I chose the larger ones. More wax for me to use and better to hold.
Everything was set up, the image, the crayons, and the hairdryer. So with the hairdryer, I would melt the crayon and the wax would drip on to the page. The low setting wasn’t working for me. So I put the hairdryer on max. I was working fine. The crayon was starting to melt, but the air flowing out of the hairdryer was blowing the was everywhere. It was tricky to make it land on the page and stay there.
Thank goodness it was only melted crayons and that it wasn’t that hot. Cause I got them all over my fingers, clothes and other surfaces. This was a messy project. It didn’t look as I imagined it in my head, but at least I got the tree done. Next time I’ll use gloves, and apron and something that isn’t a hairdryer.
And there you have it a new art project post. I like working with melted crayons. But for now, I will give it a rest. First I’ll need to buy a heating gun. Now I have to work on some more art. I have to learn how to split my free time between, writing posts, publishing posts and making art. Back then I didn’t have to do so much. But things are different now and I have to work harder to get to where I want to be. So please wish me good luck.
Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active in. Never forget to add me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!
See you all later and take care,
