Art Project: Scrapbooking vs Junk Journaling

Hello everybody! How are you all doing today?

Welcome to my new post! On my last post we talked about the differences and similarities between Art Journaling and Bullet Journaling. Today we are talking about the same thing but with Scrapbooking and Junk Journaling. From all the examples I’ve seen, they are both the same in a certain way. Yet at the same time they are very different styles of journaling. It blows my mind to learn all the creative ways you can use a journal. I know there are plenty more ways to turn a journal into a work of art.

What is Scrapbooking? The art of scrapbooking has been around for a very long time. People use it to collect things in book form. It could be from newspaper clippings to stamps. Nowadays it is created as an album of photographic memories. From important milestones, baby books and also wedding planner. In other words, scrapbooking is a very personal project. You would only find things that the owner cherishes in them.

What is a Junk Journal? There isn’t a defined meaning of what a junk journal is. They vary from owner to owner. But the consensus is that they are combination of random things you collect. Anything you find counts. Any journal can be used into a junk journal. Some are handmade and others are regular store-bought notebooks. As long it is made out of recycled materials it counts.

I know which journaling style is my favorite. But I don’t know much about the other ones. All I know is the scrapbooking takes a lot of planning. It’s a photo album with a creative twist to accentuate the event you want to commemorate. Then you have junk journaling, where you add everything and anything to a page. I still don’t understand what that is all about. I have to do more research on that one first before I try anything. It is a challenge to find enough things to stick on your journal.

I am more interested in scrapbooking. Each page is planned, and all the photos are placed in a certain way to make them stand out. Junk Journaling looks very messy. I am more of a neat and organized person when it comes to art. So, I can never imagine myself sticking and gluing random things all over the place. Or that is what I need, a creative outlet with all the randomness and freedom I could ever want. If I let myself do such a thing someday. One day I would like to turn a journal into a work of art.

So please wish me good luck and have a nice day!

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active in. Never forget to add me on Facebook, TwitchInstagramTumblr, and Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,
