Liquid Watercolor Blend Swatch

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing today?

Welcome to my new creative post. Today I will write about something that I’ve been wanting to post for a long time. Well, there are a lot of things that I’ve wanted to post but I have not finished them yet or I am still not ready. But this one has been waiting for almost three years to published. So much has happened between that I am still surprised that it has taken me so long to finally post this.

Once upon a time almost three years ago I decided to try out liquid watercolors. I bought the watercolors; the papers and I created a chart to swatch them. They were pricey but I sought after them until I finally got them. It took months to arrive in the mail. Afterwards I set it aside and forgot about them. But that is something that I always do. I want something and after I get them, I don’t care about them anymore. It takes a few more years to pick up the interest again, and then I regret not using it sooner. I know myself that is the formula of everything.

So, a few years have passed by, and I’ve finally pushed myself to complete the blended chart. I wanted to create a chart to learn what colors I could create. The set comes with a limited number of colors. If I’m going to need more than that, I need to know which colors I have to mix. I am intimidated with that idea. But that is the price I have to pay for good quality art supplies. When it comes to art, not all the colors are available to you, especially with how much they cost.

As a beginner I shouldn’t have bought so many. Starting with a small amount would have been a better idea. Now I have so many colors and I haven’t been not using them. I bought 5 colors of the Ecoline, Set A of Dr Ph Martins Radiant and a few extras from other sets. I have 24 liquid watercolors in total. I do get nervous of the idea of having to mix colors. No wonder I haven’t used my Winsor and Newton Cotman. I am lazy and a chicken about wasting supplies.

After swatching, mixing and blending so many colors, I still have no clue of what I am doing or what I got myself into. The only thing I’ve learned was the colors that I can make with the limited amount I have. One day I will color a drawing with liquid watercolors. But I have to muster the courage to do so first. I have a bunch of good quality watercolor papers and journals. I can work with that for starters.

There you have it, a new creative post. This post has taken me forever to write. When I need to work on something the most, that is when I start to procrastinate. I need to learn better time management skills. Or at least any at this point. There is a lot I need to do, things that I have to do. And then there are the things that I want to do. For some reason there is no time for none of them.

So please wish me good luck and I hope you have a nice day!
