Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?
Welcome to my new creative post. You know how much I like art. And also know how much I talk about the supplies I use. One day I want to find the best of the best for me. But that takes a long time to experiment and master.
I remember those days when I worked with very simple art supplies. My
My kryptonite is that I get scared when I have something new and precious. That fear of using it and ruining it. That is something that is still hard for me to overcome. One of the ways that I can surpass that is if I have a desperate need for it. If need a sketchbook for something I go and buy it and use it as soon as possible. Instead of buying it out of curiosity and not using it until you find a reason for it.
- Canson Mix Media Sketchbook: I have to be honest if I had to pick a simple cheap sketchbook. I would pick the Canson Mix Media. It already can handle different types of art mediums. And right now I can’t decide what I should with.
- Deleter Neopiko: For years I’ve been using the Sakura Pigma Micron pens. But I’ve never felt the satisfaction of outlining my art until I tried using the Neopiko pens. It was such an improvement that I don’t want to go back to using Sakura anymore.
- Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils: I love these pencils. I wish to get better at using them. I don’t know why am I having such a hard time trying to understand how to use them. When I was little I remember my mom had a set and I colored with it. As an adult, I decided to get my own, but I didn’t know that there was more technique involved with coloring.
- Steadler Eraser: So far this to the best eraser I’ve ever used. I bet there are better ones out there. For now, this is what I have and it is working well for me. So far I am using a black erase. But one day I will upgrade to a better one.
- Mechanical Pencil Blue Lead: Not only do I use a mechanical pencil, but I also use blue leads. It makes a huge difference in my drawings. I don’t have to worry about sharpening. My lines are always fine. And blue lead disappears when scanned or erased. This is the best change I’ve made.
- Kuretake Zig Clear Color Real Brush Pens: These are the best. It is a marker crossed with watercolors. I have the best of both worlds. Either I can use it as a marker or as watercolors or both. The pigments are so bright and vivid even when diluted. I do not regret buying a full set. Now I have to learn how to used them as it should.
I have more art supplies, but these ones are my favorites, for now. I don’t mind if I never get to find better art supplies. I can keep using these forever. My biggest strife would be the journals. It is hard to find the best people on a journal. But I’ve fallen in love with 100% cotton watercolor papers. Too bad they don’t come in a journal.
My basic go-to paper is mix media, but if I want to do a perfect artwork, then I go to my watercolor paper or 100% cotton paper. I always think about the perfect journal. With excellent quality paper. Either watercolor or Bristol. But I am sure Bristol would be harder to find.
I also heard about Faber Castell Polychromos, they say they are good. But I am not buying it until I use up all Prismacolor pencils. Unless I get a small set to test them out. Like I did with the Copic markers. I’m still trying to get used to them. It isn’t as simple as you think. Markers are sometimes scary to use. I don’t like making mistakes. Especially on drawings, I worked so hard to create.
And there you have it a new creative art post. I have a ton of art supplies that and little by little I work with each one of them to learn how to use them. That is why I have a sketchbook only for that purpose. Which it has been a long while since I’ve updated it. Like I said before, I have a lot of art supplies and there are still a few that I haven’t
