Hello Everybody! How are you all doing today?
Welcome to my new creative post! Today I want to talk about all my favorite art supplies stores. I’ve been to a few of them and now I have enough to make a list. I want to share with you all why did I pick these ones above the rest. It is nothing special. It is more personal to my taste.
As you all know, I love art. So going to an art supplies store is like going to Disneyland for me. I can never leave without buying something. It is hard to hold out on temptation. Sometimes I visit for no reason. But who can stop me? I don’t know what I’ll do without them. So I want to express how much I like each one of my favorite stores.
This is the list of my favorite art supply stores:
- BAM Art and More: BAM is the closest art store I have to home. It is a 20-minute drive but it is there. They have been around since I was little. This was the only art store I would go to. I didn’t know of any other store until I got into university. But their inventory doesn’t have a lot of the supplies I am used to working with. Back then, that wasn’t an issue for me.
- Ofi-Arte: I love this art store. I found about it while I was studying for Graphic arts. This place has a lot of art brands that aren’t available at BAM. They are a bit expensive as they have to pay for rent inside a mall. But I only come here when it is necessary. The place is quite far from home.
- Opus Art Store: This art store is in Canada. And I love it. I would come here every time I had the chance. I didn’t buy a lot but I did get to see all the things they would sell. From this store, I bought a few mixed media booklets. I miss this store. I can’t wait to go back again someday.
- DeSerres: This another art store in Canada. I visited this store very often on my way home. It was a few streets away. I bought my Leuchtturm sketchbook from here. And I regret nothing. This store also had brands that I’ve never seen before. Too bad they are only located in Canada.
- Blick Art Materials: I’ve heard of this store so many times online. But I was very happy to go to one in person at Seattle. Because this store isn’t available in many places in the US, I decided to buy their products online. I’ve already bought from them twice. So their sales are reliable and their packages arrive quick.
- Michaels Art Supplies: A long time ago there used to be Michaels store in Puerto Rico. They are long gone now. I found one in Vancouver and another one in San Antonio. Even though they are an arts and crafts store, they do sell good quality art brands.
There are many art stores that aren’t on my favorites list but I still like them anyways. At Art-Tec I bought my first set of Prismacolor Markers and the Strathmore trading cards. My Inktense Watercolor Pencils and the Dylusion Ink Sprays, I got them from Scrapbook Gallery. I can always find something interesting at any art store I go to. Even OfficeMax had Faber-Castell markers. But they will be more expensive than you usual.
There aren’t any good or bad art stores. I only have a preference for some more than others. I tend to rely on them more because they have a lot of what I need. And the location also has something to do as well. I only go so far to Ofi-Arte because I know they have some good quality brands and I want to see them before buying them.
Now that I am at San Antonio I am so happy that I live near a Michaels, a Jerry’s Artarama and a Hobby Lobby. I am so excited to find out what art supplies I can buy there. But I have to hold my hand. I am not allowed to spend and things that I don’t need at the moment. So I will check it out and that is it!
And there you have it a new creative post! For my favorite art supplies stores. I am so sorry that I am publishing a day late. I got a job and I am so busy taking training courses. But now that I am done. I have to catch up on everything. I even have to start coloring some new sketchbook artworks. I am lucky that I am not stressed out but I am not. All I want to do is sleep but there is so much to get done. So please wish me good luck!
Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active. Never forget to add me at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and on Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!
See you all later and take care,
from Ijiserure.
