My First Inktober

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing today?

Welcome to my new post!

Today I wanted to talk more about my experience through my first Inktober. I’ve never partaken in this activity before. I’ve heard about it a lot online, and I wasn’t interested. At first, I thought you had to do a complete artwork only with ink. Back then I didn’t have the supplies, and now I own a few inked art supplies. If I knew better I could have created something with my regular India ink pens.

Over the years I’ve inked a lot of drawings with pens. It wasn’t so long ago since I switched it to a dip pen. From then on, my line art has never been the same. I love how the pen makes my drawings look more professional. Some papers work better than others, I wish I could have started using these a lot sooner. But works better for my current drawings and artist-grade papers.

So before I started my Inktober project I thought this was going to be an easy task to manage. What I didn’t put into account was the fact that I am not done unpacking. Some of my drawings aren’t finished yet. And I don’t have the time that I used to spend on this. For the majority of the month, I’ve been trying to catch up with my drawings. Now I am on my last 8 drawings. And none of them aren’t ready enough to be inked yet.

If I could plan this better, I would like to try Inktober again next year. At least I don’t need these drawings right now. All these drawings are for next year’s Sketchbook Artworks. So I have time to finish them all. My sketchbook only has 58 drawings, and I only needed 31 of them for Inktober. After January I’ll be working on the other drawings I have left.

My biggest disappointment in this project was the reaction of the ink on the paper. I still can’t understand why wasn’t my lines smooth. The only thing I can think of is that the sketchbook is old. I’ve had this sketchbook for almost 10 years. The paper is bound to lose its edge over time. Next time I’ll try another art journal.

There you have it! Another art post. I don’t talk about my artwork anymore as I used to. But I do like writing about projects that I am working on. There are more plans and ideas for the future. But I need to work on them first before talking about them. For now, I will go at my own pace and take each task one step at a time.

So please wish me good luck and I hope you have a nice day!

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active in. Remember to add me on Facebook, TwitchInstagramTumblr, and Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,

from Ijiserure.
