Hello Everybody! How are you all doing today?
Welcome to my new post! My favorite time of the year is here! It always starts right after Halloween. Soon after Thanksgiving, it is all about Christmas. So I decided to post about my holiday plans. This year I am spending the Holidays on my own again. So I spend the holidays however I like.
Last year, I made a list of holiday traditions I wanted to start. It was difficult to implement that, as my parents went to visit. Now that things have gone back to normal with no interruptions, I want to start again. There are some things that I want to do. I hope to have enough holiday joy to make it happen.
This is a list of my holiday plans:
- Hang Out Around Downtown: It has been a while since the last time I visited Downtown. But I haven’t seen the Christmas Lights yet. To be honest, I haven’t spent time at night, so I don’t know what it looks likes. There is a bunch of things to do and eat over there. But this time I am trying to e frugal so is a low-spending hangout this time.
- Sea World: I know that I am trying to be frugal during the Holidays. But I am willing to shed a little bit of cash for this experience. Last year I wanted to go and see the Christmas Lights. I wasn’t able to go. This year I am making it possible. I want to spend the kind of Holiday I want.
- Holiday Shopping: This one I will be doing it a bit earlier. I am going to go shopping during Thanksgiving. While I am visiting my family I went shopping for things that I can’t find at home. So this can count as my holiday shopping. But I do love the holiday atmosphere at the mall.
- Decorate For The Holidays: I love the Holidays, it is my favorite season of the year. So I do plan to decorate for the holidays. I have the Christmas tree, decorative gives, and my musical lights. I am so excited. I do have to make the most of it. This only happens once a year.
- Do An Advent Calendar: Apart from the Christmas decorations, there is a tradition I want to keep. So I plan to do this over and over and over again for years to come. In my calendar, we use chocolates for each day. The question is, what chocolates to I use this year? Last year it was Lindor. Maybe I could use Kisses this time?
- Have A Holiday Dinner: This one is a given. We always have a Christmas Eve dinner. This feast is always looked forward to. Everyone wants to eat dinner and is food that you don’t eat that often throughout the years. That is what makes it special.
- Birthday Freebie Spree: This one is new. I joined a lot of memberships only for their Birthday Perks. Now I have more than I can handle. So I expect to spend my B-day going around town collecting my freebies. So much that I won’t be able to get them all on the same day. Let’s see how much free food would I have.
- Christmas Wish Lists: Each year I always make a wish list of things I want to get for the Holidays. This year it has been harder to decide what I wanted. Maybe because I’ve already gotten all the things I’ve wanted throughout the year. So for next year, I’ll make myself hold back a lot more to have something to wish for next year. For now, I’ll list all the things that I want to buy during my trip.
- Participate in Black Friday: Personally, there is nothing I want to buy during Black Friday. I miss the festive yet consumerism atmosphere at the malls. This isn’t the place or situation that others enjoy, so I might be doing this on my own. But it isn’t fun to hang out on your own in the middle of the night.
- Watch Holiday Movies: This is something new I want to try. I am willing to try. I do remember watching a lot of Christmas specials as a child. So now I have to go and find some suitable Holiday movies to watch. But for now, I want to watch all of the Harry Potter Movies. In my mind, I still remember the scene when Harry spends Christmas at Hogwarts.
- Spend Time with Friends & Family: This year my parents aren’t visiting for Christmas. But I did so for Thanksgiving, so we are even now. Back at home, I’ll make sure to make plans with friends and do something special throughout the Holidays.
- Christmas Breakfast: This one is new, I’ve wanted to do this since last year. In my culture, the big dinner is on Christmas Eve. Meanwhile, I’ve seen a lot of people have it on Christmas Day. So now that I am older and don’t look forward to morning gifts, it is better to look forward to an amazing Holiday Breakfast.
On last year’s post I mentioned my traditions. But I didn’t talk about them. So this time I explained each tradition with that I want to do with them. I also added a few. I wanted to make a list of 12. Because of the 12 Day of Christmas, which I still don’t know what that actually means.
This is going to be a bit difficult, I don’t have enough time to do all these things. Maybe I asked for more than I can handle. At least this isn’t a one time thing. I can continue perfecting it through out the years. I haven’t decorated at all. Some of these activities will take more priority than others.
I hope to have an amazing Holiday this year. For the past few years I haven’t done anything that special. So creating a tradition for myself will help me compensate for the long time. If not, then traveling for the Holidays could be another good choice.
So please wish me good luck and I hope you have a nice day!
