Today is another Photo Showcase. So far, I’ve been to many places. But I always choose which ones impress me the most. It can also be which ones have the most amazing photographic sceneries. But that sometimes depends on how well I can work with my camera.
This time I went to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Actually, it is not that difficult to get there. We went to Waterfront near Canada Place. A bus will show up and it will take you there. In case you are wandering the shuttle to Capilano is free.
I’ve been here for a short time, and I can say that Vancouver has large green spaces. There are so many places you can go to to get lost in a forest. Going from Stanley Park in Downtown to Central Park in Burnaby. There are trees, more trees, and lots more trees. There are green spaces back home, but this is much closer to urban cities and towns.
Going to Capilano wasn’t planned. But it was a place I wanted to visit for quite some time. At the time we arrived there it was almost noon. And there was a lot of people. We had to wait almost 15 minutes in line for our turn to cross the bridge.
Let’s say that Capilano was a very photographic place. We read the history of how and when was the bridge built. There were plenty of totem poles to gawk at. And the long bridge wasn’t the only thing you could climb on. We saw a hawk and an owl, perched on their keeper’s forearm.
It was an impressive experience. I’ve never walked on a suspension bridge before coming to Canada. The bridge was full of people, it is surprising how strong that bridge is. It is a great place to go if you want to test your bravery or overcome the fear of height. If you survive you get to receive a certificate at the park’s exit.
So there you have it another Photo Showcase. Now I can finally cross out Capilano Bridge off my list. I did enjoy coming here. But it is an experience you get to enjoy once. If I ever come back, it would be to bring a friend or a family member. I would like them to go through this experience.
