Art Project: Art Journaling #6

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing today?

Welcome to my new creative post. Yes! I have another one. To be honest this is the most art journaling I’ve ever done in my entire life. I am happy to have made more than five so far. And that is an achievement because I started in 2014. But I never had the chance to work on something until now. I started with one and ended up making seven.

This is the list of art supplies I’ve used:

  • Dylusions Creative Journal
  • Tsukineko Dew Drops
  • Dylusions Ink Sprays
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Gelly Roll Pens
  • 3D Fabric Paints

This time I will talk about each supply I’ve used. Because it is time to appreciate the supplies that allowed me to create such a wonderful artwork. And the most surprising thing is that I didn’t use so many supplies. Enough to count on one hand. What I mean to say is, that I don’t need much to create something nice.

Let’s start with the journal. People tend to dismiss the journal or the paper they use. But they are important in every project. So in this journal, I create all my art journaling projects. The page is thick and sturdy. Made for this kind of art. I bought an 8″x 8″ journal. I couldn’t decide between the 5″x 8″ or the 11″x 8 1/2″. So I got one between. One day I will buy the large journal, I want to make larger artworks.

The Tsukineko Dewdrops surprised me. I don’t remember why I got them. But I am thankful that I have them. Online I saw ways on how to blend them. And this is how I got this killer background. I wanted it to look like a sunset. I went from yellow, gold, orange, magenta, and purple.

I did make a mistake. A failed attempt to add some white spots over the background. But the ink is waterbased and it soaked through the page. That is why there are some white faded bubbles on the page. It looked like I’ve messed up. But now now it looks kinda nice.

The gelly roll pens are very useful for these kinds of projects. I love how they stand out and shimmer with that plastic look. I prefer to use them for outlines and writing. As you can see I used them for drawing the flower and writing the lyrics. I would like to buy a whole box of different colors for my projects. But that’s why I have my Dylusions Paint pens for.

I was almost done with my project but I felt that there was something missing. I couldn’t declare my work complete until I’ve added the white specs. So this time I tried using some acrylic paint. It was not easy adding them. I’ve used a paintbrush and a toothbrush to get this result. There was a mess, paint on the desk and on myself. But at least I got the result I was looking for.

Like always, there was more that I wanted to add. So that is how I got this glittery border around the edges of the page. This paint is not meant to go on paper. But I did it anyway. I like to give some 3D effect on some of my artworks.

Art journaling is so much fun. And I am glad to know that I will be able to work on more projects soon. Now that I have a mini desk, I have some space to work on. It is not perfect but it is good enough for me. Still working on how to manage my time better. With work, art, and bills it seems like I am busy all the time. But I am trying to get better. Please wish me good luck.

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active. Never forget to add me at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,
