Art Project: Bookmark

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Welcome to my new post! It has been a long while since I’ve made an art project. I do enjoy creating them. It is something that I don’t do very often. And I plan to do some more next year.

I started this project almost a year ago. But it was too uncomfortable to work on the floor without a desk. So I stopped until I had a better workspace. And now I do. Soon I’ll start making more projects like I used to.

How did I make these bookmarks?

I took a sheet of watercolor paper. Then I cut them into strips. I colored each strip of paper with two Dylussions ink sprays. Yellow and Orange, Blue with Purple. Green and Yellow and Pink with Red. To prevent them from smudging I covered them with a fixative spray.

Next was the ribbons. So I bought a roll of white ribbon. I cut off four long strands and dyed them with the ink sprays. The colors I used were: Pink, Blue, Turquoise, and Green. They came out a bit opaque. But I don’t mind.

Then I made a small hole with a hole puncher. Through the strips, I tied the ribbons. With a corner paper puncher, I cut off the corners and made them rounded. At this point, it has been months since I last worked on the bookmarks.

I wanted to make it super cute. But I thought leaving it simple was the best choice. The only thing I did was to write a word on it. I am not good at hand- lettering yet. So I did the best I could with the words. With a detail pen and a white gel pen, I doodled around the words to make it look nice.

I wish I could have done more. I am also glad that this project is done. I was thinking of using glitter on it. But I stopped myself before I ruined it. And I don’t regret that decision. I knew there was nothing more I could do for the bookmarks.

So there you have it! A new art project post. It seems weird that I posted on a Saturday instead of yesterday. I did it on purpose. It was Christmas and I wanted to enjoy this day without thinking about posting. I now have less than a week to finish my artwork so after a day of break, I work again.

Please wish me good luck and Happy Holidays!

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active in. Never forget to add me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,
