Art Project: Canvas Stencil Painting

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Today I want to talk about art. But this isn’t any other art. This is an art project. You thought that wouldn’t be doing these anymore? These are the kind of artworks I want to be doing more. And this is the first one of many.

So what did I make?

I made artwork on canvas. And I used the stencil of a tulip to create a pattern. I had some unused canvases. So I wanted to do something with it. This was my first attempt on making something like this. My plan was to paint it in a dark blue color. I guess I mixed up too much black in it. But I don’t mind. I like the way it looks.

What did I use?

  • 8 x 8 Inch Canvas
  • Liquitex Acrylic Paints (black and blue)
  • Stencil (whatever pattern you want)
  • Masking Fluid
  • Masking Tape
  • Waxed Paper

How did I made it?

So I first traced the image of a tulip on a canvas. Then I took the masking fluid to cover up the edges. To make sure no paint went on the image. I also used a waxed paper to trace the image of the tulip and cover up the image. I proceeded to add masking tape to create an inner frame around the image.

So I started by mixing the acrylic paints. I wanted a dark blue color. I took blue and a bit of black Liquitex acrylic paints. I mixed both colors together, but I turned out too dark. Instead of scrapping the colors, I went on with it. After finishing, I removed the wax paper, the masking tape, and the making fluid.

I like the end result, it is not perfect, but that was my first try. Now I would like to do some more of it. And I will do so soon. There are a bunch of projects I want to work on. I have a list of projects that I’ve been waiting to do for quite a while. I am glad that I can work on this again.

I am glad that I’ve been able to work for almost two weeks straight. I did so much progress in 14 days. Sometimes I am wondering what else can I do when I feel like I’ve done it all. When times like these come I either make a new drawing or start on a project. So there isn’t any time when I am not doing something.

There you have it a new art project post. This year is going very well so far. I have made progress and I’ve done a lot of new artworks. There are so many things that I want to do. So January is over and there is still time to fill my personal working quota. But I am liking this year, it is full of possibilities and plans to unfold.

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active. Never forget to add me at FacebookTwitterInstagramTumblr, and on Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,
