Art Review: Zig Clean Color Pens

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Welcome to my new post! Today I want to review this amazing product that I’ve had for more than a year. That means that I had enough to try them out and judge how well they work. So far they haven’t disappointed me. Only I am the blame as I need to practice more on using them.

So today I want to review the Kuretake Zig Clean Color Brush Pens. I love these pens. I don’t remember how or why. All I know is that I wanted to get them and use them for my art. I didn’t know how to watercolor back them. But because of these, I’ve become a better artist.

When I decided to buy these pens I wanted the whole set. I got the 80 pen set. After getting them I found out that they released a 90 pen set. You know what? I don’t care. I love my pens and I don’t need the whole extra 10 pens. There are colors that I haven’t used yet. So there isn’t a reason to have them all.

There are so many colors that I had to make a color swatch. First I divided them into color groups. Each block has the marker and the watercolor. You can see both versions of each color. Even when diluted they still look vibrant. It has so much pigmentation that it makes regular watercolors in shame.

As you can see, I’ve done a lot of art with these pens. See how bright and vibrant they look? Getting them was the best choice. I am not an expert at water coloring. But I am happy that these pens allowed me to create these. And because of that, these as my favorite art supplies. Even more than my colored pencils. Prismacolor has nothing on this.

What I love about these pens is that they are the best of both worlds. They are markers and watercolors at the same time. But I love using them as watercolors the most. It gives me much more control over how dark or light I want the colors to be. The only downside is that the colors reactivate when they get wet. If only the color could stay where it is and that’s it. But I know I’ll mess it up somehow.

This is my go-to supply when I am done with a new drawing. Now I have to find the watercolor paper that can compliment it. I do recommend people to get these pens. I am not sponsored at all. These are my own opinions. I don’t know if I am the only one that uses these pens the way I do.

I don’t talk about price cause it can be different depending on where you buy them. I bought them at Amazon 2018. So the price could have changed. All I know is that I paid almost $120 for them. I don’t care how much I paid. I am happy with my markers and I want to color more with them.

And there you have it! A new review post. I’ve been wanting to talk about these pens for so long. Now all I want is to see more people use these. I’ve looked online and I don’t see many reviews about these pens. They are awesome and I do not regret getting them. If only I knew about them before. Now I need to find their compliment paper. So please wish me good luck with that!
