Creative Diary: Art Medium

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Welcome to my post! I’ve been working on a lot of drawings. So while working I discovered a few things. And I decided to talk about it. This is something normal for me. Every time I draw, paint, or color I learn something new.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been working on a lot of artworks. And I learned so much with each art I made. There are things that I like and things that I don’t. But I had the chance to know what works better for me. Also with the ordeal of using the best sketchbook. Which it is a farfetched dream to find one that works with everything.

These are all the discoveries I made separated by art mediums.

Mixed Media

I am falling for the use of mixed media. I say mixed media because I use both watercolor pens and colored pencils. But I love this medium. Wishing I’ve had tried this a long time ago. Back then I didn’t have the supplies to make it as amazing as it looks now. And I want to continue perfecting these techniques.

  • How to use grays instead of blacks. I’ll have to buy a new case of colored pencils only with gray tones.
  • I don’t use the colorless blender anymore. Now I use white colored pencils to blend. I am also planning to buy a dozen white pencils too.
  • I use watercolor pens for delicate coloring. For pale and whites and skins too. But I use it as base coloring.
  • The best sketchbooks I have for these are the Canson and Strathmore. I am tired of searching for the best. I already found what I like and what I need.
  • What I want to do, is learn how to make backgrounds. Either I am too lazy for it or it intimidates me.
  • There is so much left to learn but It will have to be after I am done with my obligatory artworks. Which there are only a few left.

Watercolors

For some time I’ve been interested in watercolors. I’ve seen two artists who use it so well. And I aspire to reach that level someday. But I am still intimidated by the use of watercolors. But I am ready with all the supplies I need. I am watching tutorials to learn more about water coloring.

  • First I need to blend all the colors to know how it all works. I have to make a blending chart to swatch each color.
  • I decided to use the best papers for watercolors. From now on I only want to use watercolor papers with cotton in it. The only thing left is to learn how to control it.
  • Still have no clue what to paint first. There is so much I still don’t know yet.

Digital

A few years ago I bought a drawing tablet. I didn’t know how to use it. But after playing around with it, now I know how to use it. I can’t draw but I can color. So I am trying my best to learn how to make art out of it. I am lucky to have line art of all my drawings.

  • I have plans with some drawings. I want to see if I can make something out of it.
  • My favorite program for this is Adobe Photoshop. I am surprised how well this program works for this. It feels like a coloring book.

There you have it. I have so much I want to do. So much art I want to create. And a lot I need to learn. Now I am wondering how long it will take me to learn. I am hoping it is soon.

So please wish me good luck and have a nice day!

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active in. Never forget to add me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,
