Creative Practice: Watercolors Pt. 3

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Welcome to my new post! It’s been a while since I’ve last spoke about watercolors. And I’ve been practicing, a lot. But now it is time to take the next step. I am going to push my skills to the limit. Now with new and more advanced art supplies.

I’ve been dreaming of trying out artist grade art supplies. Always practicing and watching art supply reviews and tutorials. Back then it wasn’t the right time to buy them. Now was time has passed since June, I now got them and I can’t wait to start working. I’ll need the time and the practice to pull it off.

So I bought a few new art supplies. They are all artist grade. They were not cheap. So I saved money for it. Meanwhile, I did my research and make sure I had the good stuff. And I would have had a tougher time if it weren’t for Watercolor Misfit‘s tutorials. From her videos, I found all that I needed to know.

These are the art supplies I’ve bought for watercoloring:

Watercolor

I’ve wanted to try the liquid watercolors for years. I wasn’t brave enough to buy it back then. This time I had to do it. If I’ve gotten them sooner I would have already know how to use them by now. I did want to get the whole Dr. Ph. Martins Radiant Concentrated Water Colors. They weren’t available. It is better to try them out with a few colors first. I am so excited!

Paper

I got 100% Cotton paper. It is the best type of paper for watercolor. I’ve tried it once and I can’t go back to regular. I hope this fits inside the printer. I wanted to get the Arches paper too. But for some reason, there is a lot of stuff out of stock. So I’ll practice with this first and then get the other one when I get better at it. You have no idea how long it took me to decide which cotton paper was the best one. Sooner or later I would try them all out.

Brushes

This selection came to me out of nowhere. I wasn’t thinking at all about brushes. In my mind, I thought paper and watercolors were the most important thing. But I am glad I found out in time. Out of curiosity, I got the Silver Black Velvet Brushes. Every review spoke good things about it so I want it to try it too. I regret not getting the larger one for backgrounds. Nevermind I’ll get it on my next buy.

Palette

Like the brushes, I didn’t care much about it until they mentioned it. I thought of it less than the brushes. Now thinking back, I always had problems with my plastic palette and cheap brushes. So I am hoping everything gets fixed with my new items. I made sure to get it in porcelain. I heard the paints react depending on the material of the palette.

I am so happy with my new art supplies. I can’t wait to use my new paints. But that is why I practice, to get better. And I have proof that it works. So if I can get better at drawing, why can’t I get better at water coloring? It makes no sense and my mind is playing games on me. I did also buy other stuff, a sponge, glass water jars, and white inks.

So there you have it! A new art post. I am catching up to my pace now. I am planning my new routine. I want to make sure to create a working schedule where I can do as much progress as I can in a few days. It’ll take a while until I can find what works best for me. I almost feel like a professional now. So please wish me good luck!

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active in. Never forget to add me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,

from Ijiserure.
