I give you my tips…on art

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Today I am going to talk about ways that you can improve your art. Well I am actually going to talk about ways in how I improved. Maybe it might work for you guys. Or you already know about this all along.

Paper: You have to know which medium you are going to use. Whether it be watercolor, pens, pencils you have to choose the right paper. At first I would use regular printer paper. But now to be safe and have the freedom to use whatever I want. I now use watercolor paper. it has 140 lb which is, 300 gsm. There are more options out there. And there is a paper for each medium too.

Markers: There are a variety of markers out there. But I think I only have 3 types. I have permanent ink, archival ink and alcohol based ink. I use archival ink which those are my Micron pens. It doesn’t bleed and it is perfect for the outlining. The other two, well you need to know how to use them or use a more resistant paper. There are marker resistant papers or you can use Bristol. I still need some practice but I prefer to use Bristol. It lets me apply more layers and the colors look brighter.

Pencils: The use of pencils depends on the person. I have a graphite pencil set, but I don’t use it that much. My favorite pencil lead hardness are 3H and 8B, and sometimes HB. I want my lead to be hard and fine so I can draw delicate details. Or I want to dark to color shadows and make some bolder outlines. I am more of a mechanical pencil type of person. So I use between .005 and .07 lead size. What I dislike about graphite is the smudging and staining. So to keep your work intact and clean I spray some Workable Fixative Spray. That way I can preserve my drawings and work on them later on.

Colored pencils: Like I’ve said before about pencils. It all depends how well you work with it.  Currently I have three different types of colored pencils. I have Crayola Colored Pencils, Prismacolor Premier Softcore Pencils and Prismacolor Verithin Colored Pencils. I am good at using one of them by I am still learning with the other two. Crayola works well for beginners and I’ve used them for years. They have a hard lead but it blends well with each other. If you want to mixed it with other colored pencils, then you have to practice to find your own technique. Prismacolor Premier is a little of a handle as it has a soft lead. I am still learning how to use it. What I’ve learned was that you can blend it by applying odorless mineral spirits over them. Verithin aren’t so bad. They have a hard lead and works almost like Crayola but with a better quality.

Sketchbook/Journals: There are a lot of sketchbooks and journals in the world. And you have to find what it’s best for you. It all depends in what are you going to create and how are you going to make it. My three favorites are the regular sketchbook that has 50 lb. The mixed media journal that has a 98 lb paper and the watercolor pad with a 140 lb paper. For marker users there is bristol paper with a 100 lb.

Pens: I have a lot of pens. So many that I can’t recall what kind do I actually have. I don’t even know if I should call sharpies “pens”. All I know is that I have: gel pens, glitter pens, calligraphy pens, marker pens, sketch pens, regular pens, and micron pens. Is not like I need them. But it is good to have them around.

Watercolor: I have a few watercolor supplies. Currently learning how to use this medium. Working with water is not as easy as it looks. I guess I have to sit down and watch some more art tutorials. The supplies I have for now are: the regular watercolor that come in a wheel with many stacks and watercolor that comes inside a tube. I also have watercolor pencils, Inktense pencils and water soluble oil pastels. I don’t know how to use any of those, but at least I am using them more than I did when I bought them.

There you have it, this tips turned out more like a list of that I have. I have more art supplies that I still haven’t mentioned. But it will take me all day to write about it. And this post would be pages long. Do I have a lot of art materials? Yes I do and I don’t know where to keep it all. If I didn’t mentioned them, maybe it’s because I will talk about them in future posts.  Right now I am busy making a video. So remember to like and subscribe in here and in any other social site I’m at. Be nice to others and have a nice day.

See you all later and take care,

from Ijiserure.
