My Canadian Adventure Part I

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Today I want to talk about my current trip. It has been a while since my last Canadian post. Since then I’ve been to many places seen new things. I don’t regret at all coming here. And I am saying that to everyone who thought that traveling was a ridiculous idea.

Almost five months have gone by, and I feel like I’ve done so little. So now each week I go out to see, eat and do something new. For some reason, everything that I do reinforces my idea of wanting to stay here and start a new life. Vancouver is so amazing, beautiful, diverse and very expensive. Which makes the idea of moving here much more challenging.

What have I done so far?

I finally when to Stanley Park, I went around the park by bike. Which it is the best way to go it in my opinion. Walking it is nice too. It has large green fields. Incredible views towards Downtown and Waterfront. If I were to live here, I would like to come to the park as often as I can. But first I need to buy myself a bike.

Around Downtown, I have been down Robson, Granville, West Georgia, Alberni, West Hastings, Denman and Davie Streets. From all these streets Robson and West Georgia the bests. The sidewalks are clean, the stores are fancy. They have stores and restaurants that I know that I wouldn’t be able to afford. But that didn’t stop me from eating at the Keg Steakhouse.

After so many Tuesdays waiting for some time off I finally went to the Vancouver Museum. I saw Takashi Murakami’s exhibition “The octopus that eats its own leg”. I do like his artwork. It had so much color and details. Super bright and eye-catching. His artworks inspired me to make some colorful art-journaling. It is good to go to a museum once in a while. That is why I went to the Museum of Vancouver. You get to learn a bit more about the city you are in.

Something that I did and wasn’t even planning for it. So a few months ago I went to Cypress Mountain. It was still cold and snowing. To be honest I wasn’t planning to do much. But a few members from the tour group convinced me to go cross-country skiing. Never done it before. And now I am waiting for the day to do it again. I fell down so many times. I even go hurt. But I do not regret taking part in this adventure.

I said that I wanted to go around the Sea Wall. In my opinion, I am almost done. Walked around Waterfront, Stanley Park, from Science World to Granville Island, by English Bay and Yaletown to the Stadium. Not all at once, but I have walked so much. Going around False Creek is much prettier than you think. I get the opportunity to see that view every time that I am on my way to work.

Recently I visited Granville Island, I love that place. I already said that I have been there up to four times. I can never get tired of it. Each visit I discover something new. From all the places I have been, I have a shopping spree at the Market. It has art, food and relaxing green spaces with an amazing scenery. What more can I ask?

Going to the mall? I have been to the Pacific Centre, Vancouver Centre, and the Oakridge Mall. Soon planning to go Metrotown in Burnaby. Also, I do want to go to Ikea. People keep talking about their food court. And I guess they do sell more than furniture. Malls do have nice things to look at but they lack on the things that I am interested in. If they only had an art store, then that would be a plus for me.

Still getting used to the timezones and the weather. I can’t believe that the sky is still clear at 10 pm. How would I adapt when I go back home? The weather is also a thing that as soon as it gets cloudy, the temperature drops to freezing. It was 62 degrees Fahrenheit a few days ago. And now it is all hot and sunny outside. But I do miss the snow. Watching the snowfall was the most majestic thing I have seen in my whole life.

Now that the summer is right around the corner, I’ve started to search for pools. So far, I have found three of them. One in Kitsilano, at Stanley Park and the Renfrew Community Center. Which one would I go to? Why not all three of them? Summer is three months long. Enough to go to each one of them as much as I want. I guess I’ll have to buy some sunblock. But the pools looked amazing. It has been so long since the last time I had a good swim.

Last week I went to Queen Elizabeth Park. Nice park, beautiful garden. I am starting to enjoy green landscapes more and more. But before that, I went on a Skytrain ride to the airport. It has been months since the last time I was there. That is a thing I have done for the past months. I have been riding the train all the way. Not getting off and seeing everything that I need to see. Still haven’t seen Surrey, Port Moody nor Richmond.

I am still in love with Whistler. I will return there soon. But I am dreaming to go back there during winter. Without snow, it wouldn’t be the same. Talking about future plans, there are more places besides Vancouver that I do want to go and visit. But that is currently in planning. It will all depend on how well I can plan this, and how much I can end up saving.

There you have it, a brief detail of what I have done so far in Vancouver. There are still places that I still haven’t visited. But everything has its time. Little by little I will make my way to see everything I have planned to see. I still have time until it is time for me to move on towards the East coast.

Do not forget to give me visit at my new website The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active. Never forget to add meat FacebookTwitterInstagramTumblr, and on Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,

from Ijiserure.
