image Sketchbook Art: Cookie

Cookie

Hello everybody! How are you all doing?

Today I will show you the last drawing from my sketchbook. I still have more, but I will dedicate my time with some other drawings I have. I know that I should have tried a little more while coloring these. When I started posting, I didn’t expected to publish these drawings. But I have a lot more. Older ones, before I even considered getting a sketchbook. Now I have a ton of sketchbooks, and currently only using one.

This drawing right here is the regular form of Cookie. As you can see, I colored her hair, eyes and skin in a brown tone. I wanted it to resemble more to an actual cookie. My favorite kind of cookie, is the chocolate chip. So she will look like a chocolate chip cookie. As I look at her now, I think she needs more brown. At least a darker shade of it. I don’t know, I will have to put it on the list of improvements.

So how did I colored it? Well I used a regular pencil. But now I recommend to use any other kind of pencil that isn’t graphite. Make sure it doesn’t leave smudges or stains and that can be erasable. It is horrible when I am coloring and I forget to erase one tiny spot with graphite. As you color over it, you end up spreading a dark stain over your drawings. I stopped using it when I started making the CC Collection. My sketchbook is a 50-60 lb paper. If you like to draw and use colored pencils, then this paper if fine for you. But is you are into markers, watercolor or any other kind of ink. Then I recommend you to use a heavier paper.  I used to use printing paper. But now I have watercolor paper, which it has 140 lbs.  As always my black Micron pen for the outlines. A specific like thickness isn’t necessary. But I use .08 for clothing and .03 for skin. Sometimes I use .005 for delicate details and .02 for thin fabric. You all know by now that I use Prismacolor colored pencils and Crayola too. By experience I know both work well together. It just needs a lot of practice to figure that out. If I have done it that way, maybe these drawings would have turned out a lot better.

And there you have it. Another drawing from my Blue Sketchbook. It will be the last one for a while. Now I am working on the new drawings that I want to show you all. I am also making some improvements to make it look much better. The year is about to end and I want to get some posts done before classes start again. The more ahead I am in my work the better. So remember to subscribe to my site to know when the new post gets published. Take care and have a nice day.

See you all later and Happy New Year,

from Ijiserure.
