image Sketchbook Art: Iji’s Monarch Butterfly

image-15

Hello everybody! How are you all doing?

Today I am posting another artwork from my Blue Sketchbook. I am sorry for posting so late, but I’ve been kinda busy today. With all the class assignments I haven’t had time to work on my site. To be honest I am so tired from the university. I will take it slow as soon as I finish with finals.

So this is the monarch butterfly that I drew. At first I drew it as something related to the Magnet song from Vocaloids. But after a while I lost interest of that idea and made something else out of it. I have chosen those colors because dark blue was my favorite color for a while. Then I realized that the color turquoise had a meaning that described me for who I am. So it began being my new favorite color. After that I just decided to paint this butterfly. It is the color transition from dark blue to turquoise.

How did I made it? Well I first drew one half, then I made the other trying to make it as similar as possible to the other side. I drew it with a graphite pencil. This time I did colored it with Prismacolors. I had to press the pencil so hard to make it all look even. Right now I am running out of black, it is the most used color from the box. But I already bought extra black pencils just in case. This drawing looks so pretty that if I ever decide to get a tattoo, it would be this butterfly. The butterfly means change and I went through one last year. That is what this butterfly means to me.

So there you have it. Another of my artworks for all you to enjoy. You are looking at drawings that I’ve never planned of publishing. But I decided that it was a good I idea to do so anyways. By doing this, it pushes me to keep on finishing these drawings that have waited for so long to  get done. I am sorry for posting so late and for making this post so short. I will make sure to make my next Sketchbook Art post longer. So stay in watch for my next post and take care.

See you all later and Happy Holidays,

from Ijiserure.
