Travelog: New York City, Second Trip

Hello everybody! How are you all doing today?

Welcome to my travelog post! It has been so long since the last time I wrote one of these. The last time I did it was for my first trip to New York. I miss traveling so much. But I don’t have as much time and money as I used to. But I do plan to go on another trip. For now, I have to focus on more important things. I say that more often than I want to but that is how life is.

My first trip to New York was not good enough for me. It was a complete mess; my parents came along. It was in January, so it was freezing, and I didn’t get to see the things I wanted to see. The worst of all, I had to drive. Because of that, I decided to plan another trip. The only difference is that this post is much longer than the previous one. I was able to do so much more even if it was only for a week. At least this serves as an inspiration to plan future trips.

I wish I had more time. Sometimes a week is not enough. And I do want to go back there again. There are so many things that I didn’t get the chance to do. I am positive that I can make a new list with all the things that I’ve missed out. If only I had the money. That is my only obstacle. If I were rich, I would be traveling all the time.

So, I only spent one week in New York, and it was a good experience. I didn’t travel alone; my brother came along on this trip. I would not say amazing because I know I could have done better. The first day was the tiring part. I woke up early to catch a flight and after a 4–5-hour flight we arrived. We were so tired that day that we didn’t do much or go anywhere. But we had to eat Chinese food from the restaurant across the street.

The second day we had some breakfast at a dinner. Then we visited Times Square by subway. After so much walking around., we went across Central Park for some Asian Cuisine. I am glad we ate at the restaurant. I wouldn’t have been patient enough to wait. The walk was long, and I was very hungry. I underestimated how large the park was.

The next day, we participated in a free walking tour through the south of Central Park. I don’t know why it reminded me of a Monopoly board. No, I am serious. South of the part is where the expensive buildings are. It gets less expensive if you go clockwise. The north side is more like regular residential buildings. I have no clue about the east side. All I remember is the Guggenheim and MET museum.

For the next three days, we participated in guided bus tours all around NYC. We climbed up the Empire State Building and visited the Ground Zero. I took a ferry and passed close to the Statue of Liberty. We did and saw so many things. And I know that I wanted to do more. But there was a budget and time frame to keep in mind. And I was not alone. We met people to hang around with. So, we ended up doing things that we didn’t plan on doing.

Do not get me started on the food. We ate a lot. I ate a lot of ice cream. There was this brand that I tried there called Van Leeuwen. I felt like a fool after finding out they sell them in San Antonio, but only one store has my favorite flavor. I went to a Korean BBQ, it was expensive, but the experience was authentic. I also visited Koreatown where I tried a Chinese crepe called Jianbing. It was interesting, I would like to try it again.

On the Seventh day, we were going on a bus tour to Brooklyn. But it was snowing so it got canceled. So instead, we took a ferry to Staten Island. We stayed at the shopping area by the docks. It was early and too cold to walk anywhere else. It was our last day, and I wanted to eat somewhere with amazing sandwiches. We visited the Katz Deli. Those pastrami sandwiches were huge. One is enough to share between two people.

I want to go back. But first I have to visit Vancouver and then I’ll consider going to New York again like I said before there are so many things that I’ve missed out on. There are also other places I would like to go. Visit local like Houston or Austin. It depends on how well I am doing and if I have the time and money to spare. At least I have all those three trips planned. I am waiting for the opportunity that is all.

And there you have it, a new travel post. I am so sorry that it took me so long to post this. I’ve been busy, there is so much to do, my life has changed, and I don’t know how to manage time. Even a week of free time is not enough to help me out. I still have so much to learn. I should have used an energy drink to get me working. But I guess that would have to be for next time.

So please wish me good luck and have a nice day.

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active in. Never forget to add me on Facebook, TwitchInstagramTumblr, and Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,
