Stella Maris Travel: Trip Savings and Budgets

Hello everybody! How are you guys doing?
Today I want to talk about the travel savings. I know that I’ve talked about something like this in another post before. But today I want to make an update to my current savings. And also focus more on my traveling budget.
So I am here thinking on how should I design my trip. It’s going to be my first trip and there are specific places I want to go. As an inexperienced traveler like me, I don’t know if I should plan it safe. Right now there are three options for me to choose. I can go on the one month student trip with a fixed price range. Or I can imitate the student trip in my own way and it would be cheaper. And there is also the three month trip to all the countries I wanted to go.
The European student trip I don’t have to do much than pay their fee and show up on time on the departure date. That trip costs almost $6000 dollars. Also bring some extra cash for tips, souvenirs, lunch and emergencies. Some excursions aren’t included in the package. So the student trip will cost me more than $7000+ dollars. Because I have to buy traveling gear. At least a luggage that I can move around. And they are going to only 11 countries and it is during the summer. Is it a good idea to go on that trip? I am doubting it.
Thinking about it, I rather imitate the student trip. I’ll go to the same places. Do the same excursions and more than what that student trip offers. It will cost less than $5000 dollars. I don’t mind going to only 11 countries and missing out on the others. Or I can do them all and go to all the places I want to go and beat that trip. The thing is that I have to calculate an estimate on how much it will cost me or on how much should I need to save.
My third option is to go on my three month trip around Europe. But I will be solo traveling for such a long period of time and it’s my first trip. I will be going to 18 different places, including New York and Miami. That trip costs me $8000 dollars. My goal is to spend less but still doing all the things I want to do. A 90 days trip would be to much handle as my first trip. For a second and third trip it would be perfect. Enough time to go to all the places that I couldn’t go or missed out on my first travel.
There are two excellent sites that I like to use when I want to calculate a budget for trip. In “Dream Euro Trip“, I put the number of days and cities. You also choose what type of spending are you expecting to do. I always select the high spending, even if I have the intention of being moderate. I want to have a high price so I can save that amount.  It is better to save more than you need. The least you want is to be under budgeted. The other other site is “Budget Your Trip“. It gives you an estimate on how much you are going to spend in each city. With a calculator you can sum at total of your trip.
So this is how much I am going to spend on each trip. I have calculated the cost which they are all approximate estimation of the actual costs. The only way I will I know how much these trips costs me would be at the end after I’ve returned from them.
  • EF Tours European Student Trip: $5,795 (for adults 20 or up)
  • One month around Europe Trip: $3,439/ $5,825 (expert budget/ newbie budget)
  • 90 days trip all over Europe Trip: $8,775 (Dream Euro Trip Budget Calculator)
In the end I think I will choose the Student trip or make it my own. The price is reasonable and I get more for what I am paying. It all depends how well I can plan my trip. I don’t mind if my first trip is a solo trip. But with this price I could be able to convince someone to join me. This is the amount I have saved so far. It is a slow ascension but I am proud that I worked hard to reach this far in such a short time.
There you have it this is what I got so far in planning my trip. But this is a perfect guide line for me to know how much money I need to save.
Remember to like and subscribe, on my site or in any other social media site that I am at. You can go and visit me in at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr ,and on Pinterest. Well I’ll leave now cause I have to redesign my plans for my trip. Be nice to others and have a nice day.
See you all later and take care,
