Subscription Art Boxes

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing today?

Welcome to my new creative post! Being stuck at home pushes me to be more creative. Now that we are more dependent on delivery, maybe it is time to try out some subscription boxes. If that is possible that is. But first, there are plenty of options I need to revise on.

Today I will be talking about Subscription boxes. It is something that I’ve been curious about for a very long time. I’ve been hesitating whether to get it or not. I really do want to try one. But there are many brands to choose from.

So I did all kinds of research. I went to their websites and watched plenty of online reviews. I still don’t know which one to choose. The more I know the less I want to get it. I have some kind of expectations about what I want an art box to be. And none of them are reaching it.

These are all the Subscription Art Boxes I am interested in:

As you can see, some of them are more expensive than others. My two best options are SketchBox and ScrawlrBox. I get to try out some new art supplies. They are affordable. But there are always some pros and cons to them. Not only from my favorites but all of them.

I do not mind the price. What bothers me is the fact that the supplies that I get do not amount to the total of the box. It is cool to try new things. But you get part of a set of art supplies. A pen from one brand, a pencil from another. It is hard to try something new when you don’t have the whole thing. I agree that some boxes try to teach you some new techniques and others prompt you to create something out of what you got.

What I am trying to say here is, that I’ve realized that the subscription box isn’t for me. At least I know what it was and how it works before getting into it. I would love to try it sometime, but not with the expectations I have right now. What I want is for a service to bring me new art supply sets for me to try. But that is something that doesn’t exist yet.

If I could I would like to create my own subscription box. Like trying to find a collection of art supplies under $50. That would be challenging. But that would be cool too. Have someone pick random supplies in a strict budget. Pencils, pens, paints and a journal and maybe more. I would like to try something like that someday.

So there you have it a post about subscription art boxes. This wasn’t a review at all. I can’t review something that I’ve never had. Sorry if I was a bit harsh on the brands. My purpose was to state my opinion and feelings about getting a subscription art box or not. I would like to try it out someday, but I am not ready for it. You can decide if you want to get them or not.

It has been slow for the past few weeks. All I can do is draw at home or go to work. I am not complaining. There is always stuff to do. But I would love for all this to be over. To be honest this isn’t what I was expecting of 2020. If it were for me I would pretend 2020 didn’t happen and restart all over again. I know that I am not the only one thinking about this. So I will keep on moving forwards and wish me good luck!

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active in. Never forget to add me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,
