The Process of Creating A Story

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Today I want to talk about my stories. I talked about this topic before on a previous post. But this time it is different. Now I am going to be talking about the process of making this story.

Usually, I don’t sit around and start making a story. Most of the time I get a random idea about something. And then I decide to create a story out of it. You have no idea how many stories I’ve done because I had a dream about it.

So a spark has ignited, I have the idea which I want to build from. Then I try to figure out how everything ended up reaching that point in the dream. For me, creating a story feels like solving a crime scene. I have to find out how it started, the reasons and motivations.

While writing a story, when I have doubts I go online. I search for plot ideas, tv tropes, movie cliches. Anything that can help my story sound more plausible. And I am not afraid to make revisions. There are ways to make the story better. But it takes time to think of something interesting.

Now that I have a base, I start thinking about the main character. I always plan to create a character that matches the story. Unless the story demands otherwise. Like I  always do,  I make sure to create a character that does not look like any other. Hairstyle, hair color, eye color, and the name must be different.

Creating a character is so much more than drawing a picture of them. It needs likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses and a backstory. I think the name is the most important attribute for a character. The name has a meaning which can define a person and their personality.

You can rinse and repeat the process with any other character. This is must, a Mary Sue character is a sin. Afterward, you can do as much research as you see fit. Little by little you will build a story. Sometimes I get ideas from other stories. I like finding terrible plots and work my way to make it better.

So far I have more than 30+ individual stories. Without counting the CC Characters. And I’ve been using this same formula. To make the story even deeper, I add a piece of me into the story or into the main character. That way I can make a story with real feelings and frustrations.

There you have it, a new creative post. We are over halfway from finishing 2018. I can still remember what I did in August 2017. Time does go fast. Which that means I got to start planning for 2019 posts. At least I still have a few months left for me to work on it.

Do not forget to give me a visit at my new website The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active. Never forget to add me on FacebookTwitterInstagramTumblr, and on Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,

from Ijiserure.
