Hello everybody! How are you all doing?
Today I want to talk about a drawing I made. This drawing I made it a while back. But I was never satisfied with the end product. I still scanned it and uploaded it anyways. This time I tried to fixed it again. After so long I learned a few tricks while watching art tutorials. Thank goodness I did, because it wouldn’t come out the way it did.
This character is Ijiserure Garnet. Why do I have a character named as myself? Because that is me. I drew myself this way. Even before I dyed my hair. Garnet is my birthstone. But it also a way to classify which version of me I am drawing. There was a Churippu, Hasu and Hima, Now it is Garnet and Sapphir. I’ve changed a lot a long the years. So I also change my character.
How did I colored it? Well I used Prismacolor all the way at the begining. I wanted it to blend better. So I used a colorless blender pencil. It did blend, but it left a waxy coating all over the drawing. It made the colors look opaque. I didn’t liked it at all, it looked way off. Now that I was going to fix it, I was planing of blending the colors with odorless mineral spirits. But it didn’t worked. It had so much wax on it that it didn’t let me reach to the colors. As my last resort I used the Crayola Colored pencils. The dress, the eyes and the hair looks fine. Why can I never make the skin look good!? For the light in her eyes, I used a white gellyroll pen. And normal black Micron pen for the outlines, as always.
Well today is Epiphany day I should be celebrating instead. Epiphany is like a Christmas to us. But after all the things that happened before it. People just feel kinda worn out by it. Today I have to go to work anyways. I am already drafting the new post. I know it feels different now that I am not posting everyday. At least it is a less stressful for me. Remember from now on, I will be posting twice per week. There is a new post on every Monday and Friday. So don’t get upset, cause I didn’t stopped posting all of a sudden.
