Art Review: Leuchtturm Sketchbook

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing today?

Welcome to my new art supply review post. Today I am reviewing the Leuchtturm 1917 Sketchbook. This is the sketchbook I am using for my colored pencil artworks. I like it a lot. And it is one of those things that I didn’t Plan on getting. I found out about it and then bought it. At least I used it right away.

I like this sketchbook a lot. So much that I bought a second one. And the first one is not even completed yet. The one that I am using is the raspberry colored one. I only use it for colored pencil artworks. I’ve tried other art mediums on it but the dry media works the best.

The sketchbook is an A4 aka 8 3/4 in. x 12 1/2 in. size sketchbook. It also comes in smaller sizes, the A6 and the A5. The paper is 180 gsm or 120 lb. It has 48 sheets with 96 pages. And they are bright white. With these specifications it already is working well for me.

Because it is 120 lb I thought it would work better with other mediums. I used markers, watercolors, and colored pencils. The colored pencils were the only ones that didn’t show an issue. I would have liked it if I could use something else on it. I should give the markers a second try. But the watercolor is a no go.

I do like the sketchbook a lot. So much that I bought a second one for an art project. I plan to make new drawings and use the dip pen for inking. But I haven’t tested that yet. I do believe it will work well with it. The page is thick enough to resist it. The best part is that the cover comes in a variety of colors. A break from plain black hardcovers.

If you are out there looking for a good sketchbook, I would recommend this one. If you need it for dry mediums that is. You can get the small one and if you like it a lot then buy the big one. I didn’t do it that way cause the only one available was the large ones. And I don’t mind that at all.

So there you have it, a short art supply review. I can’t wait to buy more art supplies I want to try. Then I will be able to review them. But everything has its time. So I’ll stick with what I have right now and it is a lot. After so much sketchbook talking I should go on draw something. So please wish me good luck!

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active in. Never forget to add me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,
