Welcome to my new creative post! I am so happy that I’ve go my new sketchbook. Good thing I was able to find it from the same brand. The smooth page and colored pencil combo is the best so far. So to keep the style going I had to get a new sketchbook. Which I plan to use only with colored pencils.
I bought a new sketchbook. After many excellent attempts, I decided to keep that trend going. My Blue Sketchbook wasn’t in any conditions to work on. I’ve already drawn on both pages which still continues to mess up the art on the next page. Now I have a new sketchbook and free space to do a lot of drawings.
My conclusion was, the smooth page worked so well with the Crayola colored pencils. So I tracked back to when I purchased the blue sketchbook. I wanted a new sketchbook from the same brand with the same type of sheet. Everything has to be right if I want this to work. All I want is to continue doing the great artwork I’ve been doing so far.
So I bought a Watson Guptill Sketchbook. Not Sponsored. This time I got a smaller size 5 1/2 x 8 1/4″ with 176 pages. The paper archival with neutral pH, I didn’t know that. The weight of the paper seems thinner than on my blue sketchbook. I don’t mind, as long as it works with the Crayola colored pencils. But what I like the most is how smooth the page is. It might be smoother than Bristol smooth.
I did not hesitate, I went for the first page. Already with a plan. The sketchbook came with a purpose and I had to point it out. This sketchbook is only for Crayola colored pencils. I am putting my Prismacolors aside as these are now going to take the spotlight.
Markers, pens, graphite, watercolor are all banned. Markers feather and bleed. Pens smudge and create ghosting. Graphite stains and smudges the page. Watercolors, inks, and paints are not worth mentioning. It will destroy my sketchbook.
So far I’ve done 2 drawings and now planning 4 more. There are 9 more which I don’t know what to do with yet. Then there are 72 drawings already planned. First taking it easy before I do these. I am excited to color again.
I hope it works well. I’ll cry if it doesn’t work out. I’ll make it work. Even if I have to obliterate the pages. But I love my new sketchbook. I haven’t colored anything yet. But I want to do that as soon as possible. I am almost close to finishing all the drawings I’ve prepared. Drawing some and coloring a few and scanning lots.
An there you have it a new creative post about my new colored pencils only sketchbook. At least I put something on the cover. Later on, I’ll add some more. More colors and more embellishments. Or I can leave it as simple as it is. After I finish all my current arts, I’ll go and take a break.
