image Sketchbook Art: Ingrid

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Today I show you another of my blue sketchbooks. All these characters that I have been publishing are the main characters of different stories that I’ve made. Soon I will think about drawing their secondary characters and so on. But so far I have so many artworks that I need to get done first. So when I get them done I will publish them so everyone can see.

Out of all the main characters that I have published so far, she is my favorite. I like how this picture turned out. It is the way how the shading looks on her skirt and on her hair. All I remember was that I used an eraser to blend some parts. In other words, I was removing the color away from the opposite side of the shadows.

So I made this drawing on a regular 60lb paper. Which means it was in my Blue Sketchbook. Like always I use the Pigma Micron Pens for the outlines. For coloring, I used both Primacolors Premier Colored Pencils and the Crayola Colored Pencils. To prevent it from smudging on to another page, I would give it a light coating with hairspray. Yes, there is a thing called fixative spray. But I am lazy to go and buy some.

Who is this character?

She is Ingrid Ambrose, and she is a witch. At a young age, she was raised within a witches’ coven. Then at the age of 13, she was allowed out of the coven to explore the rest of the world. Only to return after she learned everything she needed to make her magic grow. But at the tender age of 16, she met an unfortunate fate.

On day wandering down a lonely road, an urgent carriage was willing to run her over off a narrow brick bridge. To protect herself she used magic against the carriage, which exposed herself to be a witch. The person within the carriage resulted to be a royal princess and she got a minor injury. But that was reason enough to sentence the young witch to starve to death. So the witch was trapped in a tower that had no windows and a sealed out entrance. The princess made a decree to haunt down all witches.

To preserve herself from death, she used every inch of her power to stay in a comatose state. So she slept for more than a century until the entrance of the tower fell apart. Some curious kids who were playing near the forest found her in the tower. After their discovery, they went to the look for help. A royal guard at the village heard the news an assisted the kids at the forest. The girl in the tower was brought back for aid and recovery.

After days of recovery, she had nowhere to go. So the guard told her that he was working at a nearby castle and that they always need maids for housekeeping. And to the castle, she went to work. Her life went smooth as she remembered her past. She learned why the castle was always hiring maids, cause the prince was a player. He would hit on any maid no matter her age or her status, which resulted in them quitting the job afterward, out of shame. The prince was already engaged but that didn’t stop him.

When she had the chance to meet the princess whom the prince was engaged to. Her semblance sparked a part of her memory. And soon knew that the princess was a descendant of that princess who started the witch hunts and sentenced her to rot away in that tower. So Ingrid vowed to seek vengeance upon the princess and all her kingdom. But first, she will make the princess’ fiancee hers.

And there you have it a new sketchbook artwork, a new character, and a new story. Ingrid’s story is really interesting. It just gave me some interesting ideas for the future. Something like a storytelling time. But if I want to do that, first I have to write down her story. Right now I am practicing with my drawing. It is one of the most exciting things that I have done with my art so far. And you would be to when you see them one day. All I can say is that I am on day 4.

Do not forget to give me a visit at my new website The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt. There are also many other sites that I am currently active. Never forget to add meat FacebookTwitterInstagramTumblr, and on Pinterest. Well, I’ll leave now. Be nice to others and have a nice day!

See you all later and take care,

from Ijiserure.
