Sketchbook Art: Kyrie

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Welcome to my new art post! I am working hard to get all my current art done. There are so many things I want to do. Work, blog, and chores are too much for me. But I am getting used to it. Little by little I am catching up. I’ve already made a ton of progress in two days. If I get another week like this I will be where I want to be.

Now I get the chance to post this art. I’ve been very busy and I haven’t had the change to finish all my artworks on time. That is why I posted this Sketchbook art today and not last week. From now on I’ve been pushing myself to be ahead of everything. If I am lucky I will have two months’ worth of artwork complete.

This is a new character. Well, she isn’t that new. But it is the first time I’ve colored her drawing. But the concept of her character has been on my mind for years. And this is the first time I’ll write part of her story. It is not perfect but it is still a work in progress.

I drew this art in my Leuchtturm sketchbook. I am still getting used to using Crayola on it. So far it is working well, but I need it to look spectacular. Well, it is my third drawing in the journal. Sooner or later I will get the hang of it. Let’s see how it’ll go there is a new artwork I have to start working on.

This character doesn’t have a name. She doesn’t know her name or was never given one. The only thing she knows is what she is. And she is not a human. She calls herself a kyrie and people mistook it as her name. She doesn’t belong on Earth and doesn’t know how she got there.

In another realm, there is a species of humanoid creatures called hyumnae kyria. They live as a colony, serving a queen and their princesses. Their society resembles a hive. The queen rules over her children and her favorite ones become princesses. Among the princesses, only the perfect one becomes the new queen.

The kyria have extraordinary powers and they all depend on their emotions. Their range of powers is still unknown as they are not very emotional creatures. But their emotions get expressed in their physical appearance. All the kyria are alike except the queen. But their hair and eyes change color depending on the emotion.

Those emotions gave them a permanent trait and that was their role in society. Blue kyria are calm and level headed, they were always working alongside the queen. Red are aggressive and served as soldiers. Black are rare and they work as executioners. Pink are maternal they took care of all children. Yellow are happy and are servants. The green, orange, purple and white were regulars.

Kyrie had the misfortune to be born as a husk. The queen couldn’t accept that her own princess was without power. Discarded and sent to another realm to die. Kyrie had no powers, no family, and no way on how to return home. The problem was that Kyrie did have powers, but they were different.

Living on Earth changed Kyrie in many ways. She had a short lifespan but she always came back to life. She felt emotions, express them and invoke them towards others. That’s what made her different from the rest of the kyria. The kyria could only feel and express, and become possessed of said emotions.

Kyrie is lucky that strangers found her. Willing to raise a strange child. Taking care of her if she were their own. But she knows her life is short. Not enough time to learn about herself. Until the new queen, her sister sends someone to put her out of her misery. It all backfires as her envoy is now powerless on Earth.

With another of her species, she seeks their help to figure out who she is. Instead of her executioner, he becomes her protector. He convinces her to become a queen of kyria on Earth so they can save each other. But she can’t do it with a short life span. So his mission is to always find her and teach her how to be a true kyria.

So there you have it a new sketchbook post! These past few days have been the busiest I have ever been. I’ve made so many artworks. And I am still trying to catch-up with all my work. I want to be ahead of everything. At least I want to have December, January, and February art complete. I am almost there but I need a bit more time. So please wish me good luck.

Do not forget to give me a visit at The Senspirational ArtRoom. All I need is your support and now you can do so by going to my Patreon page. Or go to see my older drawings at DeviantArt.
