image What are Smashbooks?

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Today I want to talk to you about my favorite book, the Smash Book. Created and sold by the K&Company. You can find it online or at some local craft store. What is the Smash Book? It is the best thing I’ve ever stumbled upon. If you have heard of them good, if not, then now you have. At first glance it looks like a chipboard binder with colorful pages attached into it. You can do so much with a book like that. It comes in different varieties and each one serves a different theme. What can you do with them? A lot of things. You can do scrap-booking, art journaling, keep a diary, make it into a planner, a sketchbook, a regular notebook…etc.

How did I came to know about this book? One day, a few years ago, I was shopping around Amazon, and I saw it and liked it. When I got it I didn’t know what to do with it. I only managed to decorate the cover. Then I got another one because I wanted a specific theme. When I started to use the second one, I got inspired to work on the first Smash Book. After time I bought more and more of them for future ideas. Right now I have a total of 10 Smash Books, including the Smash Book Mini.

This book, journal, folio or what ever way you want to call it, is good as an album for every moment. For example: There is a Nostalgia Smash Book, I was thinking of using that for family/ childhood memories. Either is you with your parents or you as a parent with your kids. The Retro, I was thinking of things that I loved so much back then. To remember how things used to be and what has changed over time. There is a Wedding and a Baby Smash Book. You get the idea of what you can use it for. The Pretty Pink and the Cutesy Purple, well I have no clue what to do with them. Maybe after I get them I might think of something. There isn’t anything wrong with having an extra journal or two.

This is the list of all the Smash Books I currently have:

  • Mod Black: Using it to make an “All About Me” journal.
  • International Yellow: I write about all the places I want to go.
  • Simple Orange: I document my bucket list.
  • Doodle Red: It is an inventory of all the art supplies I have.
  • Smart: I will use it to scrapbook my college memories.
  • Tasty: Soon to become a culinary bucket list
  • 365 Days: Want to use it to scrapbook the events of a special year.
  • Eco: Travel journal but all about Puerto Rico.
  • Couture: A Instax Mini photography album.
  • Mini: I still don’t know what to with it.

 

These are the Smash Books that I want to get:

  • Pretty Pocket: I want to place all the memories of my first trip. It is a large Smash Book with lots of pockets.
  • Holiday: It is hard to find this one. But I want to use it record the memories of a Holiday trip.
