My Favorite Journals For Traveling

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing?

Welcome to my new creative post! Today I want to talk about all the travel journals I have used. Writing down my travel memories is like keeping a diary. I do it so I can remember more what I did during my travels. It is not only words you can put down. You can also stick pictures, stamps, receipts, etc. It is more like a scrapbook in diary form.

You already know how much I love traveling. And when I travel I want to keep and record every moment. So before I leave on I trip I pick up on a new journal. I like keeping my travel diaries separate. It doesn’t matter if there are still a bunch of pages left. You have enough space to glue on some more photos and more receipts.

I have a journal collecting addiction. I have more journals than I can use at a time. But at least I am ready with a notebook if I new trip ever comes by. I have diaries for future trips. Pretty much, anything notebook can be a travel diary. As long as it fits in a purse or small bag. You do not want to travel with a huge journal. Unless you like it that way. You do you.

This is a list of all the journals I currently have:

  • Pentalic Traveler Notebook: It is small and it is perfect. It looks like a Leuchtturm but is not. The paper feels like a sketchbook. And it has a ton of pages. I want to use this journal for my trip to Europe. I want to practice on drawing scenery instead of sticking on photos.
  • My Travel Diary: This is a big thick book. Not a good idea to take traveling. I could but it is thick. It is a bit more complicated to use. All the pages have a purpose and not enough free range. So I am only writing the highlights of each destination adding a photo or two on it. It is more bucket list type of diary.
  • Travelogue: This book is not a travel diary. It is more like a travel booklet. It comes with a few scratchable maps to or show where have you been. You write down the itinerary, packing list, all the important stuff for your trip. Then there are pages to write down where you have been what have you done. I want to take it with me as it will be useful to have written down any important information. But it doesn’t give you enough pages to write all the things you have done.
  • Pretty Purple Pocket Smashbook: This is an album. I am filling this up with photos, stamps, stickers, whatever I can find during my trip. This journal is too big to take with me. It works better for after coming back from a trip. And with all the note you have taken during the trip, you can classify where the photos are from and dates.
  • Passport Album: This is a Dylusions Creative Dyary. But I used it instead as a passport album. Where I stick down things like stamps, postcards, and coins. Things to remember that I’ve been there. It is like the Travel Diary but with more free space. You can use any journal as a passport album.
  • Language Travel Phrases: This is a regular notebook. I used a Moleskine notebook. I made a huge list of words and phrases useful during travels. Then I made a chart with the languages I needed. So from English and so on I translate all those words into different languages. I will take it with me during my trips. As it is very useful.
  • Random Notebooks: Like I said before. You can grab any notebook and use it as a travel journal, an album or a language list. Anything is possible with a little bit of creativity. Lines, dotted, blank, whatever page you want. Stickers, markers and washi tape makes everything prettier. You choose what you want to use.

I am also on a trip right now, a long term trip that is. So I am using a diary and a mini smash book. One is for my everyday happenings and the other for the highlights. I am on day two and I am about to start. Still getting settled but keeping in mind of all the things that I have pending.

It is fun to have a travel journal. It pushes me to do more things so I can write about them. Take more photos so I can stick them to the book. And collect more items to have a memento of that place. People think that I am crazy for doing so. But who remembers their trip as vivid as in the moment? So I make sure to write what I did after going to bed. If you’re not busy then do it on the spot.

And there you have it, a new travel creative post. Speaking of travel journals and diaries. I have to work on mine. Thank goodness I took some photos during the flight and saved my flight tickets. Not I have something to glue onto my album. People may ask why don’t I keep a digital diary? The feeling is not the same. But if some people do it then good for them. It is still not my thing. I am a journal addict I can’t stop.
